Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

These terms cover building a website with Contrasite, putting it online, and paying for it. By using Contrasite you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Building a Website Is Free

You can build a website, read every page of it and change anything on it without paying us and without giving us a card. Nothing you build is on the internet until you publish it, and publishing is the paid step.

We build the site from what is already public on your Google Business Profile. We never ask for your Google password and we cannot change anything on your listing. Some photographs may come from a stock library, and you can replace anything on the page.

3. What You Pay For

Putting your website online is $29 a month, or $290 a year if you pay for the year up front. That covers your own domain, hosting the website, and every lead the form on it sends you. Each website you put online is its own subscription.

Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

4. Your Domain

We register your domain and keep it renewed for as long as you are subscribed, and we point it at your website. It is part of the service rather than something we sell you separately or move to another company. If you already have a name you would rather use, email us at gozie@contrasite.com and we will set that up.

5. Renewing and Cancelling

Your subscription renews on its own, every month or every year, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard.

Cancelling does not take anything away on the day you press it. Your website and your domain keep working to the end of the month or the year you have already paid for, and stop after that. You can change your mind at any point before then. If a payment stops going through, the subscription closes the same way.

When it stops, your website goes offline. Nothing is deleted, you keep your leads, and paying again puts the site back up.

6. Refunds

We do not refund part of a month or a year you have already paid for, because your website keeps running for the whole of it. If we take your money and cannot deliver, we refund that payment and cancel the subscription ourselves.

7. Your Website and Your Leads

What the site says about your business is yours, and so is everybody who contacts you through it. We email each enquiry to you and keep a copy on your dashboard. We do not sell them and we do not contact them for our own purposes. The software behind Contrasite, the page designs and the Contrasite name stay ours.

8. What We Need From You

Claim only your own business. You can edit every word of your site, so keep what it says about you true, in particular anything about licences, insurance or guarantees. If you text the people who fill in your form, keep the consent box optional and unticked and honour STOP.

We can take a website offline if it belongs to somebody else's business, or is being used to mislead people or to break the law.

9. What We Cannot Promise

We keep the service running and accurate as well as we reasonably can, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never be wrong. Nobody can promise you a position on Google, and we do not.

10. SMS and Text Messaging Terms

By providing your phone number and checking the consent box on our forms, you agree to receive text messages from Contrasite. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

1. This campaign sends SMS Notifications, Alerts & Occasional Marketing Communication to customers who have opted in to receive SMS notifications.
2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply text "STOP" to the number you were messaged from. Upon sending "STOP," we will confirm your unsubscribe status via SMS. Following this confirmation, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. To rejoin, sign up as you did initially, and we will resume sending SMS messages to you.
3. If you experience issues with the messaging program, reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or reach out directly to gozie@contrasite.com.
4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. As always, message and data rates may apply for messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. For questions about your text plan or data plan, contact your wireless provider.

11. Limits on What We Owe

If something goes wrong on our side, what we owe you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it happened. We are not responsible for work you lose or income you miss because the service was unavailable. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer law that applies where you live.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and if a change affects what you pay or what you get, we will email you before it takes effect.
